Test Equipment - Oscilloscopes

Back in the late 50’s when I was getting started in ham radio, I visited the shack of another ham and saw among his gear a homemade oscilloscope. Recently, I was searching the internet when I came across a description of a digital clock that uses a 3 inch scope tube as a readout.

This oscilloscope uses a 1-inch diameter Mullard DH3-91 CRT. I found it at a car boot sale, priced £1. I'm ashamed to say I didn't recognise what it was: I only bought it because it looked wierd and interesting!

A simple tester, that in association with an oscilloscope in X - Y mode, can produce "signatures" for a number of different components. You can test in situ, and compare the signature with that of a known good component.
